This USA event was held during August 2022.  This was my last 14 days US event and the best one of all.

This was a road trip to remember covering 6 National Parks ( including - Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Sequoia & Zion),  across 4 states (California, Arizona, Utah & Nevada) and 6 different accommodation locations. There was 9 hiking days and this includes the infamous Half Dome hike up in the granite mountains of Yosemite, trails through giant Sequoia & Redwood trees and hot hard hike down to the base of the Grand Canyon. 22 members attended, the photos below are from them. Big thanks to Jason, Andy and Fiona for driving the entire journey.

SCHEDULE

Saturday 30th July: A drive through Zion Park before the storm arrived

Sunday 31st July: Emerald Pool walk + 3 did part of the Narrows

Monday 1st August: Zion: Angels Landing + part of the West Rim 

Tuesday 2nd: 4am start, arrived at Bryce Canyon for 8am for 5 hrs walk then Drove from Utah to Nevada - Horse shoe Bend - finally arrived at Flagstaff 

Wednesday 3rd: Grand Canyon: Sunrise at Martha point then Grandview and Mesa Horse Shoe hike (long tough day) - finished just before the rain

Thursday 4th: Williams for Breakfast + Long drive to Las Vegas (Arizona) - 1 night in Las Vegas at the Luxor

Friday 5th: Driving day from Arizona to California  - 6 hours driving 400 miles + Sequoia National Park - Mono Rock + meadow walk

Saturday 6th: Redwood Mountain Loop was closed due to rock fall so did mini walk around the Stump then Dorset Creek walk (beautiful Giant Sequoias at the end)

Sunday 7th: General Sherman Tree & Congress Trail talk with Ranger + Scrambling along side a waterfall

Monday 8th: Short drive to Yosemite: Swim 

Tuesday 9th: 4 mile Trail up to Glacier Point and down Panorama Trail (long tough day, 16 miles with 1200 metres of ascent)

Wednesday 10th: Half Dome (long tough day, 16 miles and 16oo metres ascent)

Thursday 11th: Rest day - Visit El Capitan visit + Yosemite Falls (easy day) + swim

Friday 12th: Leave Yosemite for San Fran (Michael) or Pacific Highway (Jason)
